The Yankees' starting rotation, very hot the last couple weeks and far better than expected this season, was healthy from Opening Day until Tuesday night when veteran left-hander CC Sabathia suffered a strained left hamstring during the fourth inning of a 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
Sabathia will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine how serious his injury is, but regardless what comes of it, manager Joe Girardi says he's expecting this issue to warrant a disabled list stint.
Now what?
"We've had some losses this year and guys have stepped up, so we're going to have to have someone step up in his absence," manager Joe Girardi said.
