30 With Murti Podcast: Yankees Great Hideki Matsui

NEW YORK (WFAN) — Hideki Matsui was a legend in Japanese baseball, a monster home run hitter nicknamed “Godzilla.” He came to the United States in 2003 and became a fan favorite with the Yankees over the next seven seasons.

Matsui was viewed as uniquely professional and clutch. And while he was a standout during his time in pinstripes, he saved his best for last. Matsui hit .615 with three home runs in the 2009 World Series, and drove in six runs in the Game 6 clincher to earn the World Series MVP award.

On this season’s final edition of the “30 With Murti” podcast, Sweeny chats with Matsui, who was helped along by longtime translator Roger Kahlon.
