NEW YORK (WFAN) — Last weekend the Yankees honored the 1996 World Series champions. After the ceremony, the “Core Four” — Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettitte — and Bernie Williams spoke to reporters in the Yankee Stadium interview room.
In between jabs that were mostly aimed at Bernie, the oldest of the bunch, the guys recalled what it was like to be young and hungry back in ’96. They shared their thoughts on what the Yankees were like then, and what they are going through now as they enter another transition.
