Nathan Eovaldi was pulled after just one inning in his last start for the New York Yankees after experiencing elbow pain. The results of his injury have come in, and they are not good. Eovaldi completely tore his flexor tendon and he's going to miss all of this season and likely 2017 as well.

It's a terrible break for Eovaldi, who is set to be a free agent after the 2017 season. Now, there's a good chance he won't be tendered by the Yankees. The promising young pitcher was on the of top ones on the Yankees' staff.
This is not the first elbow injury for Eovaldi. He had Tommy John surgery in high school and was shut down before the end of last season with elbow inflammation.
Eovaldi was 9-8 this year with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. Last year, he was an impressive 14-3 for the Yankees, although he did have a 4.20 ERA. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers, before being traded to the Marlins in the 2012 Hanley Ramirez trade. The Marlins then sent him to the Yankees in 2014 in the Martin Prado trade.
