In today's Yankees news update, one New York columnist is arguing that the New York Yankees are taking a "temporary backseat" at the present moment to the rest of New York's sports teams.
According to Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News, "when the Rangers get this far in the playoffs (a rarer occurrence than Fox Sports 1 actually airing Francesa’s WFAN simulcast) the Bombers drop precipitously on the Matter Meter.
In making their first Stanley Cup Finals in two decades, Raissman argues that the New York Rangers are temporarily a bigger media draw than the Bronx Bombers.
However, it's another New York team which may be actually taking the tabloid space away from the Yankees.
"More surprising is the Yankees being shoved off center stage, and into some bunker, by this ball of confusion that is the New York Mets," writes Raissman in an article posted on Thursday. "Reality, and, spending every waking hour listening to the radio, tells me their recent controversy was topic No. 1, ahead of the Rangers."
Either way, the New York Yankees are still going about their business at Yankee Stadium - regardless of the run that they are getting in the papers.
