Over the past few weeks the chances of Ichiro staying have fluctuated quite a bit. After his very good postseason performance and a bit of a career resurgence that Ichiro wants to stay in the Bronx.
According to Andrew Marchand of ESPNNewYork.com the Yankees are in hot persuit of Ichiro and are looking to make a deal sometime in the next few weeks.

Another interesting wrinkle in the potential Ichiro signing is that Nick Swisher is expected to leave New York this offseason. That would mean that Ichiro would become the Yankees everyday right fielder.
With Swisher gone, will the Yankees pay Ichiro the money that a typical RF for Yankees? Or are they going to try to bring down the price quite a bit because Ichiro is aging fast at 39 years-old?
If the Yankees are looking to get a deal out of Ichiro, do not be surprised if he looks elsewhere for better money. But given his success with the Yankees, it seems very likely that he will be back in pinstripes in 2013.
