Danny Espinosa
Espinosa didn't have a great 2013 (by any stretch), but the Yankees are still interested based on the potential he showed in '11 and '12, as well as his ability to fill in at multiple positions as a utility player. We'd grade his chances of moving to the Yankees as lukewarm (at best), as the Nationals have already turned down trade proposals from Tampa and St.Louis.
Aledmys Diaz
The Cuban prospect found himself in hot water after falsifying his age last season, but this year the second baseman can sign with anyone on February 19. The Yankees have sent scouts to his showcases in Mexico, and are believed to be one of the most serious contenders for his signature.
Brett Gardner
Gardner has become expendable thanks to the Carlos Beltran and Jacoby Ellsbury deals. The Yankees are definitely shopping Gardner around, but it remains unclear who the top suitors will be. Keep an eye on the San Francisco Giants, according to Joel Sherman.
Raul Ibanez
Ibanez isn't high on the Yankees' list, but his name keeps popping up in rumors anyway. While a return to NY could still happen, we'd consider him much more likely to end up in Colorado with the Rockies.
