The world of Yankees rumors and news has been begging to see a healthy Derek Jeter finish his Hall-of-Fame career with the New York Yankees both healthy and happy.
According to ESPNNewYork.com's Andrew Marchand, Yankees fans may have to wait to see that come into reality. Per Marchand, Derek Jeter is being held out of today's game for precautionary reasons:
Girardi said Jeter is getting a day off because of a tight quad. No tests.

Also, as Marchand puts it, the New York Yankees captain isn't exactly thrilled with the proposition of sitting out for a second straight game against the rival Boston Red Sox:
Girardi said Jeter was unhappy with not being in lineup.

Derek Jeter has had an up-and-down start to the 2014 MLB season from a production standpoint, and it may be in his and the Yankees' best interest for him to get rest whenever he can.
However, it doesn't mean that Jeter has to like it.
