The New York Yankees have interviewed Willie Randolph for a coaching position, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman.
It’s unclear which position Randolph interviewed for, but the Yankees are looking for a new hitting coach or a first base coach.
Randolph played for the Yankees from 1976-1988 and was a coach for the team for 11 seasons after he retired. He was hired to manage the Mets in 2004, and after being fired in 2008, he has worked as a bench coach with the Brewers (2009-2010) and a bench coach/third base coach with the Orioles (2011).
