In Yankees news tonight, two former members of the hated world champion Boston Red Sox received their 2013 World Series championships rings before today's New York Yankees / Boston Red Sox clash in the Bronx.
So tweets Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe:
Jacoby Ellsbury + Matt Thornton received their World Series rings from John Farrell + Ben Cherington this afternoon before batting practice

Ellsbury and Thornton were essential pieces of the 2013 Boston Red Sox' World Series run, yet elected not to remain with the Red Sox in favor of signing lucrative free agent contracts with the New York Yankees this offseason.
So far in 2014, Matt Thornton has not given up a run nor a hit in four appearances (1.2 innings pitched.) He has struck out two against just one walk.
Ellsbury is hitting .351 in his debut season for the Yankees, providing three RBIs and four stolen bases for the New York Yankees in ten games.
