Boston Red Sox fans (and displaced New York Yankees fans) that bought a ticket on Friday to see Derek Jeter for the final time will likely come away disappointed as the Captain is scheduled to sit out.
Here's MLB's official Twitter with the update:
Derek Jeter is sitting out tonight’s @Yankees game against the @RedSox at Fenway Park.

After going 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs and a walk-off RBI single in his final game at Yankee Stadium, Jeter seemed emotionally drained in the bevy of post-game interviews he took on. When asked about his playing status for this weekend at Fenway, Jeter assured fans that he'd play in some capacity. However, he did state that Thursday's contest will likely be his last at shortstop for the club.
His status for Saturday and Sunday's games are still to be announced. Stay tuned.
