The New York Yankees weren't sure what they were going to get from Alex Rodriguez this year after he served a season-long suspension for PED use last year, but he's been the best hitter in the Yankee's lineup so far this season.
A-Rod is the biggest reason why New York is competitive so far this year because of his four home runs and 11 RBI's in just 14 games, and he says he's enjoying it.
"I'm having fun, man, I'm having fun,'' Rodriguez told USA TODAY Sports. "I'm telling you, I'm having the time of my life.''
"Alex has been playing great," manager Joe Girardi said. "He's doing everything you want. You look at the run production that we've gotten from him, and a lot of our wins are directly as a result of what he has done in certain games. It's been impressive. If he was 25, it would be impressive. When you look at the home runs, the RBI, the average, at any age it's impressive. But I think when you start talking about a guy that's 39 1/2 and has had two hip surgeries, and missed a couple years basically, it's not easy."
Rodriguez is close to passing a big milestone as well, as he's just two homers short of passing Willie Mays for fourth on the all-time home runs list.
