In today's Yankees news update, the New York Yankees have officially come to terms with top draft pick Jacob Lindgren, officially making the electric lefty a member of the Bronx Bombers' organization. He
Per Delia Enriquez of Bronx Baseball Daily, "Lindgren is projected to begin his MLB career with Class-A Charleston, which could mean he has a chance of going up the Minor League ladder to get to The Show quicker than the other draft picks. Only time will tell how long it will take for Lindgren to make it, but for now he gets to enjoy starting his professional career as a Yankee, which is probably almost every baseball players dream."
Lindgren, a Mississippi State junior, fell to the Yankees at #55. He is slated to earn $1.1 million over the course of his rookie contract.
Along with signing Lindgren today, the New York Yankees also signed six other draftees on Saturday afternoon: RHP Austin DeCarr, RHP Jonathan Holder, RHP Jordan Foley, LHP Derek Callahan, RHP Lee Casas, and RHP Corey Holes.
