In this edition of Yankees rumors and news, a bush-league mistake by the Colorado Rockies marketing department could mean the end of All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki's time in Denver and the beginning of a new era for the New York Yankees.
According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, Tulo (who is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a hip flexor strain) was spotted at Yankee Stadium on Sunday - just one day after 15,000 T-shirts with the misspelled name "Tulowizki" were handed out to Rockies fans at Coors Field:

According to Passan, the timing of Tulowitzki's visit is not a mere coincidence:
Put it this way: Tulo showing up at a Yankees game the day after the Rockies gave out 15,000 shirts with his name misspelled is no accident.

In fact, Passan is sure the Rockies are well aware that the end is near for the four-time All-Star's nine-year stay in Colorado:
Rockies know Tulowitzki wants out. Club can't be happy he's on DL at another team's game. Sort of thing that will lead to an eventual trade.

Rumors have been swirling since this past offseason about a potential Yankees/Rockies trade that would make Tulowitzki the heir apparent to Derek Jeter at shortstop in the Bronx.
Today's events? Just fuel to that fire as the 2014 MLB season hits its stretch run.
