Here's a fun one to add to the New York Yankees rumors and news for the week--Japanese ace and new Yankees' acquisition Masahiro Tanaka is bringing his wife with him to America. She just so happens to be a pop star.
Tanaka's wife, Mai Satoda, is a beloved musician and baseball wife in Japan. Satoda, who turns 30 in two months, has been linked to several successful musical groups in Japan, including forming the all-female vocal group Country Musume in 1999, whose name in English translates to "Country Girls."
According to the New York Daily News, Mai Satoda's biggest break though was perhaps her appearances on a Jeopardy-esque Japanese quiz show called "Quiz! Hexagon." She was known for answering loads of trivia questions...and getting them very wrong.
There are several sources which indicate that Masahiro Tanaka's wife was trying to sway the Japanese star to pick the Los Angeles Dodgers, but luckily for the New York Yankees, the Japanese power couple will be making their home in the Bronx.
