Lyle Overbay certainly had something good for the New York Yankees as he has been doing such a great job in filling in for their injured first baseman. Overbay’s solo home run became the reason for winning during Tuesday’s 7-4 win over the Astros held at the Yankee Stadium. Fans rushed to get the ball of success that flew all the way to the benches.
Overbay was able to rip a 1-1 pitch straight from Brad Peacock right over the right field fence to start a lead off the eight. Over the past three games, this served as his second home run. Over the season, Overbay had four home runs along with 12 RBIs.
Since he was signed in spring training by the New York Yankees, Overbay has deemed himself impressive right on the plate and overall with his field performance. Along with this momentous home run, he was also able to come up with great defensive plays and just one single error out of his 168 chances all this season.
As a concluding remark above it all, Overbay said that the most important thing about it is simply “getting a good pitch to hit.” His secret: tries his best to relax and just stick close to his game plan.
