In a late bit from the NY Yankees rumors file tonight, the NY Yankees look to be excited to compete against 2013 Heisman Trophy winner, Jameis Winston, when the NY Yankees host an exhibition game against the Florida State Seminoles at Steinbrenner Field on Tuesday.
After the Seminoles' starting quarterback led Florida State to the 2013 BCS National Championship, Jameis Winston is currently functioning as both a relief pitcher and outfielder for the currently-undefeated Florida State Seminoles' baseball team (6-0-0).
Winston's multifaceted talent hasn't gone unnoticed with NY Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who sang Winston's praises at the NY Yankees' Spring Training complex in Tampa on Monday--“It will be fun to watch," Girardi stated. “Obviously, he’s extremely athletic when you watch him play the game of football. He’s got a great arm. Pretty mature for his age.”
The feeling is more than mutual with Jameis Winston, who said he was "starstruck" at the thought of playing against his "favorite team"--the NY Yankees.
