MLB Trade Deadline: Yankees looking at Joaquin Benoit, out on Danks?

The New York Yankees remain open to the idea of adding pitching before tomorrow's non-waiver trade deadline. However, they might have narrowed their a search a bit with the clock ticking away.

Here's Joel Sherman of the New York Post with the scoop:

The Yankees have been looking for a veteran arm to help stabilize the Betances/Robertson back-of-the-bullpen duo as the season hits his stretch run. Benoit is having another stellar season in 2014, and still has the dominant stuff necessary to turn a potential question mark in the 'pen into a strength going forward.

With their eyes firmly fixed on relief help, it now looks that mid-tier arms such as John Danks and Brett Anderson are no longer at the front of general manager Brian Cashman's mind as he fields and makes phone calls until Thursday's 4:00PM EST cutoff.

However, as things tend to do at this time of year, don't be surprised if that tact changes at the 11th hour. Stay tuned.
