In tonight's Yankees news update, Mark Teixeira's wrist problems kept him out for a third straight game on Wednesday - something which the Yankees slugger is having a hard time coping with.
Per George A. King III of the New York Post, "Teixeira still doesn’t believe his bothersome right wrist is a serious issue, but did admit to being disappointed the joint forced him to sit out a third straight game Wednesday."
When asked about whether or not he has been feeling better after having surgery on the wrist last season, Teixiera had a very honest reply: "Not as much as I’d like. I was hoping I’d wake up this morning and feel nothing. There’s still some soreness in there."
Regardless of the discomfort he is feeling right now, the Yankees first baseman doesn't see an MRI in his near future: “Not unless something is found. But I wouldn’t expect that,’’ Teixeira said of a potential MRI exam. “I hope not, obviously. Hopefully the extra day off tomorrow will help, and hopefully I’m back in there on Friday.”
Chat Sports will have more on Teixeira's status for the New York Yankees' weekend series with the Twins as information is made available.
