In his first year with the New York Red Bulls, defender Michael Amir Murillo made 20 appearances. Out of those 20 appearances, Murillo started 18 games and scored two goals in the process, en route to completing his transfer from San Francisco FC on November 27.
Murillo featured in 1316 minutes for the Red Bulls during the MLS regular and started all three of the Red Bulls playoff matches this year.
According to Luis Robles, the Panamanian defender impressed his teammates more and more as the season progressed.
“You look at Amir. A guy who came into the season, no one knew who he was,” Robles stated.
