YEAR IN REVIEW: Alex Muyl

In his sophomore season with the Red Bulls, Homegrown player Alex Muyl produced yet another quality season.

This year, the Georgetown alumnus tallied three goals and four assists in 30 appearances in the MLS regular season. The 22-year-old also managed to earn 21 starts, up from 18 during his rookie season.

Similar to Tyler Adams, Muyl found himself dispersed in many different positions this year in head coach Jesse Marsch’s tactics. Regardless of where he was in the formation, Muyl’s high work rates shined through his 1945 minutes of play this MLS regular season and playoffs.

In his end-of-the-year interviews, Marsch mentioned the hard work of Homegrowns Muyl, Adams and Sean Davis on and off the field, including furthering their education.
