MONTCLAIR, N.J. (AUGUST 5, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II defeated the Rochester Rhinos, Saturday at MSU Soccer Park for the first time in regulation by a score of 2-1. Goals scored by Arun Basuljevic and Stefano Bonomo were the difference in the match.
New York opened the scoring in the fifth minute as a ball sent in behind the Rochester defense caused confusion deflecting off an onrushing Tomas Gomez to the foot of Basuljevic who knocked it home for his first professional goal of his career.
Noah Powder nearly doubled NYRB II’s lead in the 42nd minute glancing the top of the cross bar with a left-footed effort.
