The U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) ran away with a 6-0 win against Korea Republic on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Five different players contributed to the scoring frenzy as the USA earned its seventh shutout of the year.
The USWNT opened up scoring on a corner kick once again, but this time, the tally would come in the third minute of action. Defender Abby Dahlkemper took the corner kick from the left side of the field and placed the ball towards the back post. A wide open Sam Mewis headed the ball down towards the goal, megging the keeper in the process, to convert the first goal of the match.
