There will be a CONCACAF team in the Women’s U-17 World Cup final.

The Women’s U-17 World Cup will feature a team from CONCACAF for the first time since its inaugural edition in 2008. Ten years ago, the USA made the first-ever Women’s U-17 World Cup final, losing 2-0 to North Korea (North Korea is the dominant force at the U-17 level of international women’s soccer: two titles, one runner-up finish, and one fourth-place from the five U-17 World Cups preceding this one).

Canada and Mexico have made it to the semifinal stage of the 2018 edition - one of them will be in the final.

Mexico beat Canada in the semifinals of the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship, going on to lose to the USA in the final.
