Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that the club has officially waived defender Erin Simon.
Simon was first noticed by the club in 2016 after performing well during the open tryouts process. She was then invited to preseason camp, and quickly earned a professional contract. A New Jersey native, Simon earned a starting spot on the Sky Blue FC backline during her rookie campaign, making 18 stars over 19 appearances. She also tallied two assists.
In 2017, Simon suffered a left foot fracture, limiting her season to seven starts in seven appearances.
