Sky Blue FC forward Sam Kerr was officially named to the 2017 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Best XI, her first Best XI selection of her five-year career in the league.
The Australian international earned her second NWSL accolade of the season, with the first being the NWSL Golden Boot. Kerr finished the 2017 campaign with 17 goals in 22 appearances. Her 17 tallies eclipsed the previous NWSL record of 16 that was set by former Seattle Reign FC midfielder Kim Little in 2014.
Kerr was also named a finalist for the 2017 NWSL MVP award as voted by owners, general managers, coaches, players and the media in the preliminary round.
