The New York Red Bulls' lost two starting defenders to injury in one game for the second time this season, and once again find themselves facing an injury crisis.
Currently, the team has six fit, full-time defenders to cover the four positions on the back line. Tyler Adams is a hypothetical seventh: the 17-year-old is being groomed to be a defensive midfielder, but can also play in defense and was recently mentioned as a possible solution to one of RBNY's earlier back-four selection headaches.
One option the team has already tried is currently on season-long loan to NASL's Jacksonville Armada.
