Red Bulls trail after first leg of CONCACAF semifinal

The Red Bulls are down, but it could have been worse.

Isaac Brizuela’s first-half strike in the 26th minute secured Chivas a 1-0 win over the Red Bulls in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinal first leg at Estadio Chivas on Wednesday night.

The Mexico international squad took the lead after Brizuela slid the ball under goalie Luis Robles after a swift counter-attack.

The Red Bulls pushed for an equalizer, but their job was made harder after defender Aurelien Collin was shown a red card with 17 minutes left.

Collin will miss the return leg, but the Red Bulls know that a win by two goals or more at home will secure their place in the CCL final.
