The Red Bulls officially said goodbye to Felipe and welcomed in one of the area’s own.
The club announced it dealt the midfielder, $500,000 in allocation money split over two seasons and an international roster spot for 2018 to the Vancouver Whitecaps for center back Tim Parker on Friday. The 25-year-old Parker, a Hicksville native, played four seasons at St. John’s and will begin his fourth MLS season. He led the Red Storm to three NCAA Tournaments and the 2011 Big East championship alongside current Red Bull Connor Lade.
“Tim is an established MLS talent with a lot of the qualities we look for in our defenders,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett in statement.
