HARRISON, N.J. (April 4, 2018) – The New York Red Bulls U-23 side’s First Round opponent in the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup has been drawn, U.S. Soccer announced today.
New York Red Bulls U-23s will begin their Open Cup campaign against NPSL side, FC Motown on Wednesday, May 9 at Ranger Stadium on the campus of Drew University (Madison, N.J.). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be live-tweeted from the @RedBullsAcademy Twitter handle.
This year's winning team will receive $300,000 (up from $250,000 last year), a berth in the 2019 Concacaf Champions League and have its name engraved on the historic Dewar Challenge Trophy, one of the oldest nationally contested trophies in American team sports.
