HARRISON, N.J. (March 6, 2020) – New York Red Bulls II have signed midfielder Samad Bounthong to a USL Championship contract, the club announced today.
Bounthong, 22, was earned First Team All-MAAC honors twice in his four years at Marist College, during his junior and senior years. He started 71 of the 72 games he played for the Red Foxes, scoring 14 goals and 11 assists during his career.
“Samad is an academy player that came on our radar late in his college career at Marist,” Head Coach John Wolyniec said. “He came into preseason and has continued to improve and we feel he can really develop during the year.
