Daniel Royer struck for a brace to help lift the New York Red Bulls to a 2-1 win over LAFC in a star-studded showdown of league powerhouses Sunday at Red Bull Arena.
Royer netted his second goal 10 minutes from full time on a play that started with Bradley Wright-Phillips latching onto a long ball from Marc Rzatkowski. BWP ran into space in the box before slipping the ball to Royer for the easy tap-in.
Royer opened the scoring for the Red Bulls (14-6-2) in the 39th minute, starting the buildup with a ball to Kaku.
