MATCH RECAP: New York Red Bulls Advance to CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals

The New York Red Bulls became the latest MLS team to reach the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, after beating Honduran side CD Olimpia 2-0 at Red Bull Arena on Thursday to win the series 3-1 on aggregate.

The first half was entertaining on both ends, with both sides eager to race upfield and put numbers into the final third, but the final product was lacking.

Bradley Wright-Phillips found the breakthrough in the 54th minute, making a solo run with the ball into the box and slotting it past Olimpia goalkeeper Donis Escober.

Moments later, the Red Bulls were fortunate as Diego Reyes missed a wide-open net for Olimpia.
