Venezuela is hosting a quadrangular tournament in the November international window, allowing its own U-20 men’s national team and three regional rivals to prepare for January’s 2019 South American Men’s U-20 Championship.
New York Red Bulls midfielder Cristian Casseres is part of the Venezuela squad. The tournament started on November 14 and La Vinotinto won its opening game against Bolivia, 1-0. Casseres played the full 90 minutes of that match, and will hope to further cement his place in Venezuela’s plans for the forthcoming CONMEBOL U-20 Championship as this preparatory tournament progresses.
