Panama hasn't won a competitive match in 2017 since Copa Centroamericana in January - a tournament at which it beat Nicaragua on its way to a second-placed finish. That competition was played in Panama, and Los Canaleros won't have home advantage this time around. Still, they are expected to win this game; not least because Nicaragua lost its opening game to Martinique while Panama played home team USA to a draw.
Anything less than a Panama win will be an upset in this match, and a disappointment for Los Canaleros. The tie with the USA means Panama has a decent shot at winning Group B: all it needs to do is win its remaining games by more goals than USMNT manages to score against the same opponents.
