Costa Rica and Panama get the knockout rounds of the 2017 Gold Cup started. In principle, Los Ticos are favorites to progress to the semifinals, but the squad has been hit by a succession of injuries. Rodney Wallace is the latest casualty, and this tournament is an increasingly challenging test of the theory that Costa Rica has one of the deeper player pools in CONCACAF.
Rodney Wallace returned to #NYCFC and is expected to be out two weeks due to a grade 2 right muscle strain suffered during the Gold Cup.

Los Canaleros are not at full strength for Gold Cup either, but are at least still more or less able to stick with the group of players they planned to test during this competition.
