Canada was knocked out of the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Men's Championship after suffering its second consecutive loss of the tournament back on April 25. Cuba's 2-1 win left the Canadians with nothing to play for but pride in this game.
Suriname, however, still has a shot at making the Classification Stage of the competition. It will need to beat Canada and hope Costa Rica beats Cuba in the following game in this group by sufficient margin to hand Suriname a tie-breakers advantage over the Cubans.
It's a long-shot, not least because Canada has looked a little unfortunate to lose both games it has played in the competition to date, and Suriname is arguably a little fortunate not to have zero points (it has one) alongside the Canadians at the bottom of Group B.
