Cameroon has allowed four players to return to their clubs after the team completed its 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying obligations.
Fabrice Ondoa, Adolphe Teiku, Sebastien Siani and Karl Toko will head back to their respective clubs, leaving head coach Hugo Broos with 18 players to choose from for the Indomitable Lions friendly against Gabon, unless he calls up a few reinforcements for Tuesday's game. (Broos has also stated that absentee Clinton N'Jie is not at odds with the national team and remains available for selection for future squads.)
Toko's absence in particular would appear to open up the promise of a more substantial appearance for the New York Red Bulls' Anatole Abang (currently on a season-long loan to Hobro IK in Denmark).
