HANOVER, N.J. – At just 19-years-old, Anatole Abang is on the precipice of starting his international career at the senior level.
A native of Yaounde, Cameroon, Abang has previously received caps at both the U-17 and U-20 level for his national side. But after a solid debut campaign for the New York Red Bulls in 2015, Abang has earned a look from newly appointed head coach Hugo Broos.
“He’s going to the national team for the first time, so we’re really excited for him,” New York head coach Jesse Marsch said.
Abang featured mostly off the bench during his first season with the Red Bulls, making 17 appearances and scoring four goals along the way.
