The New York Red Bulls’ new signing, Wikelman Carmona, comes from Guárico, a state in Venezuela located south of the capital Caracas. In the 2019 South American Under-17 Championship, he wore La Vinotinto’s no. 10.
Carmona, born in 2003, arrives in New York after playing for Venezuela’s Dynamo FC Margarita Academy.
The 17-year-old is a left-footed midfielder, capable to play as a central attacking midfielder or in either of the flanks.
