Cristian Cásseres Jr. made his second start of the 2019 season on Saturday night and scored the team's lone goal, the first of his career in Major League Soccer.
"It was a very important goal in my career, and in my life," Cásseres said. "It’s my first goal here. I’m very grateful for that, I'm happy."
The 19-year-old Venezuelan smashed home a ball in the box after a corner kick bounced around and landed at his feet. It was his first MLS goal in his fifth game (three starts).
The defensive midfielder has logged 90 minutes with New York Red Bulls II this season and twice has started and played the full 90 for the MLS side.
