Minnesota United's first pick of the 2016 Expansion Draft (second overall) became the first traded out of the Expansion United's grab-bag: Chris Duvall (formerly of the New York Red Bulls) was flipped out to Montreal Impact with an unspecified amount of General Allocation Money (GAM) in exchange for attacking midfielder Johan Venegas.
The trade, at least for now, reunites Duvall with his full-back partner from the 2014 RBNY squad, Ambroise Oyongo.
Montreal's technical director, Adam Braz, said nice things about his club's latest recruit, as one would expect:
"We are very pleased to add @chrisduvall91 to our team, this is a full back profile that our coaching staff is looking for" -Adam Braz #IMFC

If Duvall and Oyongo are still with Montreal when the 2017 MLS season kicks off (there is still a lot of time for off-season wheeling and dealing), fans will get a peek at the full-back tandem it appeared Mike Petke hoped would serve RBNY for several seasons.
