The last time Alejandro Romero Gamarra, aka “Kaku” represented the Argentina national team was in 2015 with the Under-20 team for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Since then, Kaku has not received so much as a call-up to an Argentina camp. As a result, it should have come as no surprise that Kaku failed to make Argentina’s roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
However, Kaku appears to be on the verge of taking another route towards playing soccer at the international level.
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Kaku is planning on applying for a one-time switch to Paraguay, which would make him eligible to play for Paraguay competitively.
