Minutes before the publication of the starting lineup for their game against Columbus Crew, the New York Red Bulls announced that Sal Zizzo - starting right-back for most of the season to date - would miss the April 22 match.
The team's official statement described a calf strain as the issue, and promised the player would be re-evaluated in the week following the Crew game.
Zizzo has been the starter at right-back for much of RBNY's start to the 2017 season in part because there weren't many other options in the squad: Connor Lade's years has been interrupted by injury; Panama international Amir Murillo was signed to challenge for the starting RB job, but is still settling in to his new surroundings.
