San Jose, Calif. (February 2, 2019) – New York Red Bulls center back Aaron Long captained the U.S. Men’s National Team and played the full 90 against Costa Rica, as the National Team won 1-0 on Saturday at Avaya Stadium.
Long, 26, earned his fourth cap for the USMNT, and captained the squad for the second straight match.
In the 58th minute, Long almost broke the 0-0 tie against Los Ticos, after a corner attempt by the USMNT, as he tried to flick it with his back heel, which was subsequently blocked. He later secured the rebound for a second attempt, but shot it just over the cross bar.
