Almost every NHL coach perpetuates the idea that he wants to roll four lines. But regardless of Rangers 21-year-old center Lias Andersson being sent to AHL Hartford on Sunday, it’s still clear that David Quinn, after a round 100 games behind the Blueshirts bench, is one who rides his horses.
Paging Mika Zibanejad.
The Blueshirts have done an admirable job weathering the storm without their top-line center and arguably most important player, going 5-3-1 since Zibanejad suffered his upper-body injury Oct. 27. As his return nears, it’s easy to look back on some of the dastardly lows during his absence, including the 9-3 thumping in Tampa on Thursday that preceded a 4-3 loss to the Panthers on Saturday that completed them getting swept on the two-game Snowbird Swing.
