SUNRISE, Fla. — As much as he probably wants to make a point about accountability, it doesn’t seem much is going to change for David Quinn in terms of roster options for Saturday night’s game against the Panthers.
The Rangers coach didn’t mince words when he said he wanted to bench people during Thursday night’s historically bad 9-3 loss at Tampa Bay. But he couldn’t do so because his bench was shortened with the loss of Jacob Trouba in the second period after an upper-body injury — thus moving Brendan Smith back to defense — along with the misconducts being piled up by Micheal Haley and Brendan Lemieux.
