DETROIT — What Marc Staal just went through really isn’t described properly as simply “back spasms.”
The Rangers defenseman and alternate captain returned to practice Friday and is set to play in Saturday afternoon’s game at Detroit after missing the previous two games because of the ailment. He also missed a game on Feb. 23 because of his back, and one on March 3 with an illness.
“I was still trying to get through it, then I got sick,” Staal said. “I was dehydrated, lying in bed for 24 hours kind of thing.
