If you are inclined to self-torture — and let’s face it: If you are a big enough sports fan, especially around here, that’s precisely how you are inclined — then you spent more than a few difficult moments Saturday lamenting the darkness inside Madison Square Garden.
Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals was played as scheduled, it just took place 1,140 miles away from where it was supposed to — inside an antiseptic concert hall known as Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
The Garden? There are a couple of Liberty games next week. There’s a Billy Joel concert on the 20th, and a couple of New Kids on the Block shows the next two days, then Bette Midler and Rush.
