With Alexandar Georgiev and Igor Shesterkin, the New York Rangers have two of the best young Russian goaltending prospects in the NHL. Add them to Sergei Bobrovsky, Semyon Varlamov, Andrei Vasilevski and Anton Khudobin and they make up the greatest set of Russian goaltenders in the history of the NHL.
Want an amazing fact? Do you know how many Russian goalies have played in the NHL? Only 14 have played with three of them appearing in only one or two games. That means only ten Russians have played as many as 40 games in the NHL and Georgiev was the last to join that group with 43 appearances.
